Paintings: 2021 - present
In this series, layers of water-based and oil-based paint define space, shape, and three-dimensional forms. The emerging content does not reveal existing, identifiable objects, though the content is formed and tangible - something you could hold, but cannot name.
When seeking answers, I am often met with more questions: If the content is not strictly defined then what do we know to be true? Can a memory be depicted as a box, scrap, or other physical object? Is this depiction something you bought or something you remember? Is it something you lost or something you are building? What do the parts add up to? What is the ultimate worth of a memory or a possession?
